![]() ![]() If you need a way to burn that early cash, try to get as many Leather Lamellar armors as you can for your melee guys. If you have extra cash and you feel like your guys have good gear, recruit a couple of the cheapest good backgrounds (things like brawlers and farmers and gravediggers, cheap guys with small bonuses and no real penalties) to search for guys with stars in good stats. But I'd advise spending almost every penny of that starting cash to get your guys geared up. I'd say to always buy trade goods that are selling for near their base value, you rarely have to travel more than 1 or 2 towns away to turn a decent profit. ![]() Originally posted by Prester:thanks, is trading a good way to make money at the beginning? im playing on easy until i get a hang of the game so i start with nearly 3k gold. Oh, and make sure you don't spend all your money when you're buying at the towns cause you still need enough money to pay daily wages for the trip back to the selling destination. Then return to the bigger castles/cities (shown towards the top of the wiki page) to sell at higher amounts. Not only will prices be slightly better as you gain relation status with that town but certain contracts (return relics) will make the town so happy they'll usually sell their trade goods BELOW the actual value. Make sure you do your buying AFTER doing any contracts. Hunt down what is terrorizing the villagers). If there is a debuff then see if that town has a contract that will clear the debuff (ex. Just make sure when you get there that there is no Town debuff (scared villagers, ambushed trade routes, etc.) as that will make buying the stuff far more expensive. The ones that produce food/drink are not so useful for trade but if you can locate the towns that produce the other trade goods then that's where you want to go to buy stuff cheap for trading. Look for the buildings shown toward the bottom of this wiki page ("Economic Attached Locations"). Focus on the little buildings that are near each town, not the town itself. I think it's perfectly ok to not know their stats before hiring them, as in real life application, there can always be surprises no matter how much you think you know someone.Originally posted by wpmaura:How do you find the producing cities? With the map paused just look around the map at the different towns and cities. It's probably more of a risk hiring them than the other one, but they could turn out to be absolutely incredible in that role. On the other hand, you could have a run of the mill person that did ok in the interviews and doesn't have an amazing CV. They could have aced the interviews and have an amazing CV (think of this person as a Hedge Knight - they seem amazing just looking at them), however once hired they could be absolutely atrocious at the job, or not fit in well with the team, or not as much experience as they'd stated. However, no matter how much you think you know about someone, it is always a risk hiring them. If I'm a hiring manager, I'd go through hundreds of CVs and ask people along to numerous interview processes etc. I slightly disagree that it makes sense from a roleplay perspective - I know that we're talking about medieval times here but I think about it in current day terms: ![]() Main Wiki Link Starter Guide Key shortcuts Game mechanics Seed Bank Give people a clue as to what your post is about - discussion, video post, screenshot etc. If you want to post like you're 12, there are other sites available for you. ![]() For instance, if you disagree with women being in Battle Brothers, "Women weren't historically known as fighters during that time period" is far better than "Social justice warriors just want everything their own way you are gay as hell".
